Think. Try. Then Google.

This is not a joke or an exaggeration. I Google everything. Anytime I need to know how to do anything I Google for someone else's answer. Someone else's solution. Someone else who did the work and thinking so I don't have to - so I can be lazy. Don't get me wrong, at times this is okay. There is no need to reinvent the wheel, but too often either information is not precisely what I want, incomplete, or simply unclear. I end up doing the work and figuring out a solution on my own and all I did was waste time by first turning to Google instead of trusting my own creativity and problem solving skills.

We have been streaming on Twitch here and there for the past few months. This means I have been trying to learn more and more about OBS Studio (the software I'm using to layout and share my screen) and streaming on Twitch in general. Everytime I need to do something, like export my Scene settings just in case I need them later, I start to Google it. But guess what - it's not that hard to find:

Export/Import is in an obvious place
Export is in an obvious place.

I encountered this situation several times the other night. I would instantly Google something, get some unclear answer, and just look into on my own. It was frustrating and I continuously vowed to stop Googling everything instead of using my own brain. Anyway, I'm done beating myself up. Rant over. Do you catch yourself Googling before you try it yourself? Let's talk about it either down below or on Twitter.

Until next time,
Aaron
